Macro shots!

Fred my Venus Fly Trap...

A tiger on the carousel at the Chesterfield mall...

My pearls.

And my jeans.

So, I really like macro shots...

Wide/micro shots

My venus flytrap (Fred), the carousel in the chesterfield mall, and a snow covered swing...

Fred and Lola. (Lola is the cactus in the background.)

This week...

This week my three photos are...

Architexture isn't my norm, but I thought this was pretty and would give it a shot...

I love contrast between the limbs of the tree and the sky in this photo.
Comments on all posts are appreciated, I'd love to know what I can do better!

Motion

For this assignment we were to take pictures of motion. Here are the first three. I chose the subject of water and had a lot of fun taking these! They are all unedited, by the way.

Me, Myself, and I

Part two of the assignment is...drum roll please...

Self portraits. Hooray!

There is more to me than the black and white monotony of the world, you just have to look closely to see.

I am a bright, cheerful person and love bright cheery places and colors.

Admiration

Half of our first assignment was to find 5 pictures we admired.

Here they are...
Anurag's photo he titles "Old and Happy" is a beautiful portrait. I love the crispness of the black and white, and it is a perfect medium to really show the wrinkles that have so many stories beneath them.

The pastels in this photo bring about a dreamlike air to this scene that is quite captivating.

This David Kaspar photo portrays a sense of lonliness to me that is really captured with the use of black and white.

This little girl is so cute and this portrait captures her angelic features. The pink in the background really offsets her eyes as well.

I love how all of the focus is on the couple's hands. The unfocused background is very intriguing in this Lisa Hessel photo.

So there they are, some lovely photographs I hope you enjoyed. Have a lovely day!

And so we begin!

Hello and welcome to my blog! So this is part of my photography class, which I am totally looking forward to more than any other class I have. I'll post assignments, and probably some stuff for my own pleasure too, so keep checking back for updates! I'm not sure how this is all going to turn out, but we're in for a whole lot of fun, so here we go...

First up, I'm going to post some pictures I took over the summer, just as a reference point to the start of the class. So here they are!

I love to take pictures of nature.

Tom, my Nana's kitty, isn't the most cuddly of creatures, but he loves to pose.

This is my darling little sister. Isn't she gorgeous?

This was a fun idea, taking a picture through a picture frame, and I definitely want to try it again and hopefully get a better outcome!

So that's just a little sample, and I hope the next post will be much better. That's all for now folks. Y'all come back now, ya hear!
